We might be worthy

If you’re like me you can’t help but contemplate the arrival of atlas. Today might be a life changing day for the entire planet. The question is of course if it’s intelligent life from another planet and what do they want. Resources are my guess, but are we the resource or is it something else, maybe they were just here and are coming back to check on their crop. How do we react if we’re it?.

Let’s say they are us from the future past and they know we are on the precipice of our own demise, they know something we don’t and are here to correct the earth life balance. Say the earth is a biological reserve for all life, one species appears to be endangering the entire garden. Do they cull that species to save the vast library of life. How would we convince them we are worthy? What if they don’t recognize us as sentient? Like the way we treat all other life forms on the planet as mostly resources for our usage and consumption, who is to say this will be any different. Maybe its their hunting season, hope they have there tags and are good shots.

What if they say take us to your leader?, who would that be?, depending on who they communicate with could have significant impacts on our future. Let’s make sure we send the right message with the right messenger. My concern is that we will feel threatened and lash out in a destructive manner that results in our immediate demise. We need to exert some type of value representation of our species, we are worthy type of message. What would that message say? We are just like you or we are you from a while back.

Maybe it’s an automatic machine sent through our solar system to measure and map biological reserves, a giant life taking or life giving machine culling over growth when needed to preserve the diversity of life on a rare biological planet. Maybe it’s some cranky alien that’s planning on bombarding our planet with testlas from space, saying here’s your junk back.

Either way we have an opportunity to witness an event unprecedented in our known history. If they show up at your house, try not to freak out, maybe don’t make any sudden jerky movements and play some Ravi Chankar music. Maybe some tea would be in order. Maybe don’t mention our leadership and don’t hug them unless they want you too. If they come to my house I will let you know how it goes.
